Taking a break from competing for his third MotoGP title, Ducati Lenovo rider Francesco Bagnaia wins the third Lenovo Race of Champions, held during World Ducati Week at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
A total of 15 Ducati riders took part, riding the new Ducati Panigale V4 S this year. They includes MotoGP riders Bagnaia, Marc Marquez, Marco Bezzecchi, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Enea Bastianini, Franco Morbidelli, Jorge Martin, and Alex Martin, alongside World Superbike riders Andrea Iannone, Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Alvaro Bautista, Danilo Petrucci and Nicolo Bulega, test rider Michele Pirro, and British Superbike rider Glenn Irwin.
Bagnaia also won the 2022 event, ahead of Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi. Due to the disruption of the global panedemic, the first Ducati race of champions was actually held in 2018, won by Ducati test rider Michele Pirro ahead of Tito Rabat and Xavi Fores.
It’s not often you get to see MotoGP, World Superbike and other riders compete on the same machinery, even if some might have a bit more knowledge of the Misano circuit that others. The bikes had track modifications include the fairing and racing bellypan, Brembo GP4-MotoGP brake calipers and Z04 pads, and a billet top triple clamp personalised with the rider’s name.
World Ducati Week 2024 also broke attendance records, with more than 94,000 people visiting the 12th annual event.

2022 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy Begins
The UK heads the list of teams competing as the 2022 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy begins in Albania. They head the male competition from Thailand and South Africa, while the top three female teams are Germany, South Africa and Mexico.
With a course made of 65km of Tarmac and 135km off-road, the competition began with the ‘Welcome Trail’ on a jagged ride above the coastline, before travelling through the lowlands to take on the second special test of the day, with the ‘Holta Enduro Lap’. This saw them tackle a course crossing water, with mud and stone banks to navigate.

The UK team is made up of motorcycle workshop owner Fred Adams from Bristol, inspection engineer Craig Searles from Leominster, and Kyle Robertson, a goods importer from Llanrwst in Wales.

First New Flagship MV Agusta Store Opens In Milan
If you’re visiting Italy for business or pleasure there’s another motorcycling location to include in your itinerary as a first new flagship MV Agusta store opens in Milan.
The 400 square metre showroom includes space for MV Agusta motorcycles, e-bikes and clothing, surrounded by pictures of famous riders and bikes from the history of the manufacturer. Appropriately, one of the guests for the grand opening was Giacomo Agostini, the 15-time world champion who signed for the team in 1965 and went on to win the 500 title seven times in a row, along with similar success on the 350cc bikes. It was also an extended birthday celebration for Ago, who celebrated in 80th birtday on June 16th.

“MV Agusta is my family, it’s in my heart, and I still go around on racing bikes today. MV Agusta gave me everything, fame, success. I always felt at home here, even though it wasn’t always easy to deal with Count Agusta, especially in the beginning. MV Agusta is the greatest of brands, and I am sure Timur will make it even greater,” said Agostini
The new MV Agusta store is located at Viale Teodorico 18 in the Fiera area of downtown Milan. In addition to the main showroom and workshop facilities, there’s also a terrace area and a club lounge with a bar and reading area.
Check out our coverage of MV Agusta motorcycles, including new, classic and secondhand examples.
