You might need one crash helmet to cover riding on streets and off-road, or just like the more rugged look for cruising around town. In either case, the new entry-level NEXX Y.TRAVL adventure helmet is a cost-effective option which doesn’t look radically different to the more expensive helmets in the range, like the X.LIFECOUNTRY CARBON.
Two sizes of the Polyfusion thermoplastic shell are produced to provide a suitable basis for S-XXL fitments, with the aerodynamic shape designed to reduce turbulence and neck fatigure. The off-road peak also has an anti-vibration system, or can be removed if you prefer. There’s an extra-wide aperture for peripheral vision, the main visor is Pinlock-ready, and uses the NEXX X-Swift Quick Release system so you can change it in seconds, plus you also get an integrated drop-down sun visor.

Updated New LS2 Pioneer II Helmet For 2024
It’s been around for a good few years, and remains a popular and affordable choice for adventure sports riders. And somewhat remarkably, the updated new LS2 Pioneer II helmet for 2024 stays an affordable option, with prices starting at £119.99.
Originally developed with input from professional off-road and supermoto racers, it continues to use the LS2 Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) for the shell. Which offers a combination of flexibility and penetration resistance, hopefully reducing the energy of an impact without letting anything sharp before a problem.
Three outer shell sizes across the range help to keep the weight down to 1650g and avoids unnecessary bulkiness or padding inside the long-oval shaped helmet, with intake and exhaust ports channelling air through the EPS liner.
Whether you call it adventure sports, dual sports, or just like mixing up trail riding and commuting, you get the off-road design with a quick release visor. It’s Pinlock 70 Max Vision-ready, and you also get a drop-down sun visor. The peak of the LS2 Pioneer II is adjustable and removable without needing tools, so you can ditch it on the motorway, and then put it back on for protection when you reach the wilderness.
Along with the breathable and hypollergenic lining, which is removable and washable, you also get the normal Emergency Release System to allow medics or other riders to remove the cheek pads with minimal disruption to your head and neck. And the helmet is also ready for the LS2 Intercom (Bluetooth by Cardo), if you need to communicate while you’re riding through the woods.
The update new LS2 Pioneer II Helmet for 2024 is available in sizes XS-3XL, and costs £119.99 in solid Black, or £139.99 if you pick one of four graphics choices. The other Adventure options in the LS2 range are the £219.99 Explorer, or the £299.99 Explorer Carbon. Or you can pick from three off-road helmets, starting with the new Fast II from £79.99
You can order LS2 helmets online from GhostBikes (or RevZilla in the U.S), including some good discounts and deals. If you’re looking for a new motorcycle helmet, why not check out our other Helmet news and articles, or our previous coverage of the LS2 range?
