Get set for ‘Lovecars: On the Road’ Series 2

Lovecars On the Road Series 2 with Paul Woodman and Tiff Needell

Popular motoring show Lovecars: On the Road is with a second series, available on Prime Video from 16 February 2024.

It’s the first time the automotive adventure show has been available on the global streaming service. At the same time, both Series 1 and 2 will launch into new global territories, entertaining audiences in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Returning to host the show is TV personality and ex-racing driver Tiff Needell alongside co-presenter Paul Woodman, plus special guests and friends including Top Gear’s former Stig Ben Collins and Italian racer Vicky Piria.

Of course, the real stars are the cars and Series 2 includes a long list – including a priceless endurance racing Porsche, a six-wheeled monster truck, glittering supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan STO, an ultra-rare Pagani Huayra BC and a £1.6m hand-built homage to a very famous Ferrari. There are also tests of mainstream EVs, including the Genesis GV60 and Renault Megane E-Tech.

The team’s travels include adventures in over 50 different cars in nine countries – from an electric road trip through Switzerland’s winter wonderland, to the holy grail of hypercars on Ohio’s highways.

“We’re well and truly back with a bang,” said co-host Tiff Needell. “Series 2 is such a treat – I can’t wait for the Prime Video audience to join us on our wild motoring adventures.

“And we’ve got everything covered – from one of the world’s most incredible supercar collections, to the ultimate guide to charging an EV. There’s something for everyone.”

Lovecars founder and co-host Paul Woodman added: “The show is about putting viewers in the driving seat of as many different cars as we can, in some of the greatest driving destinations.

“There’s currently nowhere else on TV that can transport you from sub-zero Scandinavia to a summer’s afternoon in Tuscany with a V8 Maserati soundtrack – or from a fast blast on Britain’s B-roads to cruising in a Bugatti Chiron on an American highway.”

Lovecars: On the Road is produced by a small, mainly in-house content team, based in Clevedon near Bristol.

Alongside Series 2, Series 1 remains available on ITVX for UK viewers.

LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY

A record 382 Lamborghinis on track at Silverstone Circuit, celebrating LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY and creating Supercar history.

LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY

More than 380 Lamborghinis arrived at Silverstone Circuit for ‘Lamborghini Day’, the UK’s official celebration of the Italian super sports car manufacturer Automobili LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY. Alongside the official UK presentation of the new Lamborghini Revuelto, the first hybrid Lamborghini, guests took to Silverstone Circuit for a unique parade lap: the never-before-seen spectacle of 382 Lamborghinis together on the F1 circuit created an historic new record for Lamborghini, for the most cars on track at one time.

The Lamborghinis departed the UK’s 11 dealerships in Bull Run convoys, to arrive at Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, where they were greeted by Lamborghini’s board directors. Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, together with Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr; Head of Design Mitja Borkert; and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Federico Foschini presented the new Lamborghini Revuelto to guests: the first super sports V12 hybrid car. Delivering 1015 CV from a naturally-aspirated V12 engine combined with three electric motors, it is the first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV).“The UK continues as one of our top markets worldwide with a loyal and growing Lamborghini client and fan base,” said Stephan Winkelmann. “Our celebrations for our 60th anniversary event at Silverstone, the UK’s most iconic race circuit, are a fitting tribute to both our brand, our owners and the millions of people around the world who are passionately interested in Lamborghini and follow us through events and social media. It is also the perfect occasion for the new Lamborghini Revuelto to make its official UK debut: the first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) that, with its combination of a V12 aspirated engine and three electric motors, not only marks Lamborghini’s first electrified vehicle but also continues our super sports car DNA in terms of Lamborghini design, technology, performance and dynamic emotions.”

LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY

After signing a special artwork created in celebration of LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY, Stephan Winkelmann and directors joined owners lined up to drive Silverstone’s iconic Grand Prix circuit. The 382 cars led by Lamborghini’s pro drivers from its Squadra Corse motorsport team lapped the circuit, creating a spectacle of colour and creating Lamborghini history for the most cars together on a track.

Returning to Silverstone’s iconic Wing building, guests spent the rest of the day exploring various facets of the Italian super sports car manufacturer. Lamborghini’s Centro Stile design team headed by Mitja Borkert provided live demonstrations of the design process, and a pop-up Ad Personam lounge allowed clients to explore the vast options for personalizing a new Lamborghini with virtually limitless possibilities in terms of color and trim.

A display of classic Lamborghini cars including the 400 GT, Miura, Espada, Countach, Diablo and LM 002 was curated by Lamborghini Polo Storico: the specialist department managing the restoration, certification, archives and spare parts for historic models, with a team on hand to answer owners’ queries. A display on sustainability led customers through the diverse initiatives by Lamborghini that uphold and build on the company’s carbon neutrality certification achieved in 2015.

LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY

In the mezzanine area, Lamborghini’s timing partner Roger Dubuis displayed its exclusive watches. The UK’s Barwell Motorsport presented the multi-winning Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO racecar it campaigns in the British GT series and the GT World Challenge Europe as an official partner of Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse motorsport division.

Lamborghini Day UK is just one of LAMBORGHINI’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY celebrations, which began in January with the inauguration of the newly renovated Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese and the exhibition “The Future Began In 1963”. This was followed by Lamborghini Day Japan. On 24 May the 60th Anniversary Giro tour will be held in Italy, ending on May 28 in Piazza Maggiore in Bologna with a Concours d’Elegance open to the public, where more than 150 Lamborghinis are expected to participate.

Unveiled at the end of March 2023, the Lamborghini Revuelto is the first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). Revuelto defines a new paradigm in terms of performance, sportiness and driving pleasure from its unprecedented new architecture; innovative design; maximum-efficiency aerodynamics; and a new carbon frame concept. An output of 1015 CV is delivered from the combined power of an entirely new combustion engine together with three electric motors, alongside a double-clutch gearbox that makes its debut on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for the first time.

The powertrain combines high specific power elements: the new 128 CV/liter combustion engine works synergically with two front axial flux motors that deliver an outstanding weight-to-power ratio, with a radial flux electric motor positioned above the first eight-speed double-clutch gearbox debuting on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini. The three electric motors are powered by a lithium-ion high specific power (4500 W/kg) battery pack that also supports a fully-electric drive mode.

Carbon fiber, produced via artisan craftmanship in the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory, is the principal structural element within the new car, used not only in the monofuselage and frame but also in all elements of the bodywork apart from the doors and bumpers. The extensive use of carbon fiber and lightweight materials, combined with the potent engine power, contributes to achieving the best weight-to-power ratio in the history of Lamborghini: 1,75 kg/CV.

The new Revuelto combines these attributes together with outstanding new aerodynamic design to deliver performance figures at the peak of its segment: acceleration from 0-100 km/h in only 2,5 seconds; 0-200 km/h in less than 7 seconds; and a top speed of more than 350 km/h. These numbers combine with its exceptional dynamism thanks to the introduction of electric torque vectoring, and four-wheel drive available also in fully-electric drive mode, ensuring the Revuelto super sports car expresses its amplified qualities both on the race track and in daily driving.

ONE-OF-ONE: LAMBORGHINI MIURA ROADSTER

Unique ‘68 ONE-OF-ONE: LAMBORGHINI MIURA ROADSTER is on display at the MUDETEC Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese, IT until November 30th.

ONE-OF-ONE: LAMBORGHINI MIURA ROADSTERThe one-of-a-kind ‘68 Lamborghini Miura Roadster, which inspired the configuration of the just-released and last-ever Aventador Ultimae, is on display at the MUDETEC throughout the months of October and November. This is a unique and rare opportunity for museum visitors to get an up-close look at a priceless piece of automotive history.

Unveiled at the Carrozzeria Bertone stand at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show, the ONE-OF-ONE: LAMBORGHINI MIURA ROADSTER remained a one-off and is considered one of the most beautiful show cars ever produced. The color combination itself was designed to dazzle: Lamè Sky Blu for the paintwork, with a white leather interior and red carpeting.

The Miura Roadster has no side windows or roof closure system, which allowed the Bertone stylists to maintain a unique purity of line. Many aesthetic changes were made compared to the Miura coupe, with the rear part completely redesigned to leave the engine fully exposed, and the secondary control switches in the cabin interior, usually mounted on the ceiling, moved to a different position.

Following another appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in 1968, the Roadster was sent back to Sant’Agata Bolognese for some road tests conducted by legendary Lamborghini test driver Bob Wallace. Returning to Carrozzeria Bertone, it was sold to the International Lead and Zinc Research Association (ILZRO), who modified it extensively, repainted it dark olive green with a green interior, and renamed it ZN 75.

ONE-OF-ONE: LAMBORGHINI MIURA ROADSTERIn 2007-2008 the Roadster underwent a complete restoration, bringing it back to its original configuration with the utmost attention paid to every detail. As soon as the work was completed, the Miura Roadster was presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2008, where it took second place in the class dedicated to Lamborghini models.

The Limited Edition Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini

As both Italian companies are ultimately owned by the Volkswagen group, it’s not surprising to see the new limited edition Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini unveiled. A couple of years ago we saw the Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini inspired by the Sian FKP 37 hypercar and the founding date of the Italian supercar company. And now comes the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, built on the technical base of the 2023 Panigale V4 S.

In both cases, you’ll get the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine putting out 208 horesepower, and with a dry clutch. It’s uses as a stressed element in the almunium front frame, with bodywork redesigned with inspiration from the Huracan STO. So you get details like a mudguard inspired by the integrated air vents on the car, and extractors on the belly pan to follow the design of the cooling intakes on the rear brakes of the Huracan. The supercar bonnest has also inspired the extractors on the single-seat tail unit, while the front bumper vents are echoed on the tank of the motorcycle, and all of it comes in carbon using the same texture as you’d see on a Lamborghini.

Extras include a dry clutch, Akrapovic silencer, Brembo brakes and Ohlins semi-active suspension

But you also get a host of other trick components including adjustable rider foot pegs and lightened brake and cluch levevers in billet aluminium from a collaboration with Rizoma. And you also get carbon heel guards, saddle pad, dashboard cover, ignition switch cover and sprocket protection. And carbon fibre also appears for the heat protection, headlight support, rear mudgard and the rear subframe guards.

As you’d expect, some top brands have been tapped up for parts including the Akrapovic titanium exhaust silencer with carbon fibre end cap, the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension, and the Brembo brakes with Stylema calipers and 330mm discs. You also get a selection of bits to help prepare for track days including an open carbon fibre cover for the dry clutch and caps for removing the numberplate and mirrors, along with the racing fuel cap.

All of this means you get a kerb weight of 197.5kg for the new limited edition Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini. All the normal 630 examples will be created in a Verde Citrea/Arancio Dac colour combination to match a Huracan STO with Arancio Dac Brembo wings and brake calpiers, and black Ohlins stays and fork legs. But if you’re a Lamborghini Huracan STO owner, you can order a bike with the body, wheels, brake calipers and saddle details to match your car as closely as possible.

And if you really want to co-ordinate your look, there’s also a matching limited edition helmet, along with learthers and a jacket. Plus, along with the numbered metal plate on the central tank cover, you’ll also get a special animation on the TFT dashboard when you turn on the ignition.

Obviously, the new Limited Edition Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini isn’t going to be cheap. But considering the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini was apparently sold out in just a few days, and ten times as many Streetfighter V4s are being produced, obviously it’s a decent source of revenue for the firm. Which hopefully gets ploughed into their more affordable bikes, along with the high end numbered collectables.

Deliveries of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini begin in April 2023. While you’re waiting, why not check out all our coverage of new, custom and classic Ducati motorcycles. Or see if any of the Ducati Streetfighter V4s currently advertised on eBay will tide you over until next year.
