Citroen Ami

The cute Citroën Ami 100% electric mobility solution has been honoured in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2022.

Technically a quadricycle, the two-seater is 100% recyclable, while 85% of its battery pack can be recycled and reused.

Priced from £7,695 and launching in the UK this summer, it produces zero emissions and it’s a perfect mode of transport for getting around cities and urban areas.

The Ami has a 5.5kWh battery that can be fully charged in just three hours. All versions feature a 6kW electric motor, enabling a top speed of 27.9mph, with a range of up to 46 miles.

Buyers can also run an Ami for just £19.99 per month on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), over 24 months (with a customer deposit of just £2,369, plus an optional final payment to purchase the vehicle at the end of the contract).

Prestigious award for new Fiat 500 EV

New electric Fiat 500

The all-new New Fiat 500 has been crowned Best Electric Car at the first ever Marie Claire UK Sustainability Awards.

Praised for its impressive range, iconic design, connectivity features and use of recycled materials, its other awards include Best Small Electric Car for the City by WhatCar? and Auto Express’s City Car of the Year.

For the inaugural Sustainability Awards, the Marie Claire UK team were joined by global experts, thought leaders and activists in sustainability to recognise brands making a difference in an increasingly eco-conscious world.

“New Fiat 500 has what it takes to convert buyers to go electric, offering an impressive range for its size and a slick and modern upgrade to its iconic design,” said Andrea Thompson, Editor in Chief, Marie Claire UK.

“It’s the attention to detail across the board that sets it apart from the competition. From the autonomous driving features and connectivity to the innovative use of recycled marine materials on the interior, this is an agile, efficient and intelligent 500 for a new generation.”

The new 500 is the first fully-electric Fiat designed from the ground up. The car’s best-in-class features include Level 2 Autonomous Driving technologies, a variety of battery options and a driving range of up to 199 miles – the longest range of any electric city car on the market today.

The sustainable philosophy of the New 500 is reflected not only in the electric powertrain but also within the interior. The seats are partly made with Seaqual yarn, the weaving of which produces a material derived from recycled plastic, 10% of which originates from the sea and 90 per cent from land.

Greg Taylor, Fiat UK Country Manager, added: “The arrival of New 500 marks a pivotal moment in making sustainable, connected and autonomous mobility accessible to UK motorists.

“With a host of features such as an all-new infotainment system and Level 2 Autonomous Driving – which is exclusive to New 500 within its segment – as well as four trim levels, there is a New 500 for everyone.”

In recent weeks, the new 500 has additionally won Best Small Electric Car for the City by What Car?, named Car of the Year by Electrifying and has also been recognised by Auto Express as their City Car of the Year.
