The annual celebration of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer will once again take place at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli as World Ducati Week 2026 will be held from July 3rd-5th at the track.
The thirteenth edition of the event will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the company being founded by Antonio Cavalieri and his three sons (Adriano, Marcello and Bruno), who originally formed SSR Ducati to produce vacuum tubes, condensers and other radio components in their Borgo Panigale factory. In 1950, they started producing the Cucciolo, originally just as an engine to mount on bicycles, and then as a 48cc motorcycle capable of 40mph. So it’s also 75 years since they started producing motorbikes, with Ducati Meccanica SpA officially splitting in 1953.

See The 1938 Galbusera 500 V8 At Italian Bike Week 2025
I’m always fascinated by the stories of smaller and lesser-known motorcycle manufacturers, especially with so many springing up and then disappearing in the early 20th century. So it’s cool that you can see the 1938 Galbusera 500 V8 at Italian Bike Week 2025.
Moto Galbusera & Co started out somewhere between 1932 and 1934, with Plinio Galbusera building bikes between 175cc and 500cc. He was joined by Egyptian-born rider and mechanic Adolfo Marama Toyo (born Roberto Antonion Ivanicich), who is often credited with introducing speedway to Italy, and it led to both a 249cc V-four two-stroke and a supercharged two-stroke 498cc V8 appearing at the 1938 Milan Show. And it was claimed the latter had 28hp and a top speed of 150km/h.
More unusual details of the longitudinal V8 include an oversquare bore-to-stroke ratio, supercharing via compressor, a four-stroke-style lubrication system and two counter-rotating crankshafts.
Italian Bike Week 2025 takes place in Lignano Sabbiadoto from September 18th to 21st, 2025. And if you can’t make it, then a book is also being launched, “In the footsteps of Maramo Toyo. Mysteries Unveiled and the Dream of the Galbusera V8 – The Vanished Motorcycle” curated by Franco Damiani di Vergada from the Moto Club Trieste and published by Tiglio Edizioni.
There have been other V8 motorcycles produced both before and after the Galbusera, but it’s a fascinating piece of motorcycle history. And makes me think I really need to plan a visit to both Italian Bike Week, and the annual Moto Guzzi Open House at some point in the future considering they both take place around the same time in September. And credit for Sheldon’s EMU for some of the background info on Galbusera.

The Romney Marsh Ride-In Show Returns On June 29th, 2025
If you’re looking for an excuse to get out in Kent this summer, the Romney Marsh Ride-In Show returns on June 29th, 2025. And if you park up in the designated show area, you’ll be eligible for £25 cash prizes for the Best Classic (pre-1980) and Best Post Classic bikes.
The show actually takes place in Hamstreet village, just south of Ashford, and not far from the coast if you want to visit a beach before heading home. Or need to bribe the family for a visit. Entry is £5 for adults, £4 for seniors, and free for accompanied under-16s, with gates opening from 10am, last admission at 1.,30pm, and the event closing at 3.30pm depending on the British weather.
There should be a pretty wide range of bikes on show, with last year’s winners being Peter Denyer with his Best Classic 1953 BSA C11 250cc, and Les Cook with the Best Post-Classis Honda CB100N. Club stands are free, and there will also be a variety of traders and autojumble stalls if you need to pick up some tools, parts or more. If you want to declutter your garage this year, you can book a Workshop Clear-out stall for £15, which includes entry for two people.
If you’re looking to buy or sell a bike, then the free BikeMart display-to-sell area is open to anyone who wants to drop off or ride their motorcycle along. Although in the latter case, you might need to organise a lift home. Or at least to Ashford for a train, although I wouldn’t recommend public transport in full race leathers.
The Romney Marsh Ride-In Show returns on June 29th, 2025 at Hamstreet, Kent, TN26 2JD. For more details, advance tickets and club stands, visit the organisers site. And check out other motorcycling events happening through the year, here.
