Audi Announces 2023 Model Year Updates For the US

2023 Model

The German automaker will be expanding its EV lineup later this year. Audi is now updating its US product portfolio for the 2023 model year.

The Ingolstadt brand is introducing the 2023 model year for the United States. Audi’s 2023 MY lineup will get a slew of minor and major updates across the company’s portfolio. Every single Audi model now gets additional standard and optional equipment. These include the entry-level Audi A3 and Q3 variants and the top-of-the-line A8 and Q8 offerings.

Audi will also be expanding its EV portfolio later this year. The automaker will add the Audi Q4 e-tron Q4 Sportback e-tron to its lineup. For now, the 40 and 45 variants of the 2023 Audi A4 get LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. One will also find a Bang and Olufsen sound system in the Premium Plus trim of the nameplate, and the convenience package for the entire A4 range now gets the adaptive cruise control feature.

Audi is also updating the appearance options for the 2023 A4, including new wheels. In addition to a wide range of equipment, the Premium variant of Audi A6 and S7 now get adaptive cruise control as standard. As part of the Executive package, Audi now offers the 2023 RS7 with a remote park assist feature and a black Dinamica headliner.

Audi Announces 2023 Model Year Updates For the US

For its 2023 model year, the adaptive cruise control feature is standard across all Q5 and SQ5 variants.

November last year, the 2022 Audi A8 facelift made its world debut. As a result of this, the 2023 update now gets only minor updates across the range. Audi A8 customers opting for the German automaker’s Comfort Plus package will now get HD matrix design LED headlights. Audi will now offer the high-octane S8 version with a Valcona leather interior.

SUVs and crossovers are the best-selling body types in the market right now. Nevertheless, Audi did not refrain from updating its range for the 2023 model year. The automaker’s Q3 nameplate now gets a wireless phone charging pad and LED headlights with LED daytime running lights as standard across the lineup.

The company also offers an optional appearance package for the 40 and 45 variants of the Q3, which gets new wheel options. Perhaps one of the most significant changes for the 2023 model year is a new entry-level engine option for the Audi Q7. The SUV now gets a 2-liter four-cylinder motor which churns out 261 HP of maximum power.

Lastly, Audi’s flagship Q8 and SQ8 models also get HD matrix design LED headlights and headlight washers as standard for the 2023 model year.

Must Watch: The Heartwarming Journey of Reviving a Wrecked Audi S3

wrecked Audi S3

YouTuber Mat Armstrong rebuilds a wrecked Audi S3 and demonstrates that you don’t have to be an experienced mechanic to go out there and find a great deal on your favorite performance machine.

In one of his recent videos, Mat Armstrong chronicles the completion of an elaborate revival of a wrecked Audi S3. It is satisfying to see a written-off performance machine get a new lease on life. What’s even more heartwarming is that Mat is restoring the S3 for his friend Liam who had a run of bad luck with his cars in the past.

Another fun fact for our readers, Mat is not a mechanic but an enthusiast who tries to learn as he goes along. Luckily for Mat, the S3 shares its parts with Golf R, which he is familiar with. So, I reckon this series can motivate even the most skeptical builders amongst us to go out there and find a great deal. The damage to the car was quite extensive.

Safe to say, Mat had his work cut out for him seeing how the rebuild took almost three months to complete. Mat decided against starting the engine because of a crack in the inlet manifold. The YouTuber suspected that there might be plastic in the inlet manifold, which could destroy the engine. There was also no damage to the car’s suspension.

Mat also had to replace the battery of the wrecked S3 before repairing the front chassis damage, which bent the chassis at the front.

He also installs a new front-end that comes complete with a new intercooler. In the series, Mat also shares the motivation behind this S3 project. “This YouTube stuff has basically allowed me to live my dream life rebuilding, modifying, and driving cars that I never thought I’d ever own, and now I feel like it’s time to rebuild cars not just for my own pleasure, shares Mat.
He further adds,” The S3 has come such a long way in such a short amount of time. You only have to take a look at what it first looked like when I first bought it to what it looks like now.”

With the used car prices skyrocketing right now, restoring/repairing these modern classics is sustainable and a necessity of the time. Lastly, this restoration series is one of the most engaging and entertaining build stories on YouTube. Mat doesn’t dilly-dally and covers a big chunk of the project in every video without wasting any time, which will appeal to every gearhead.

Audi S3 MTM Clubsport Dominates the Alps With 480 HP Powerplant

Audi S3 MTMWith Motoren Technik Mayer’s Stage 4 kit, the powerplant of this Audi S3 MTM Clubsport churns out 480 horsepower.

When it comes to high-performance machines, we can always count on Auditography to bring us some exciting rides. In November 2021, the YouTube channel featured one of the most faithful replicas of the legendary Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2. Audiography’s now offering an in-depth look at a 480 HP Audi S3 tuned by German outfit Motoren Technik Mayer in its most recent video. The tuner’s new offering is called Audi S3 MTM Clubsport.

Motoren Technik Mayer offers four tuning packages for the 2022 model year Audi S3. Unlike the five-cylinder RS3, the 2022 Audi S3 gets a Turbocharged four-cylinder motor that produces 306 HP of power and 295 lb-ft of peak torque. With its Stage 1 kit, the company can bump the power of the TFSI motor up to 360 HP.

It’s with the top-of-the-line Stage 4 kit that the 2.0-liter powerplant churns out 480 HP of maximum power. MTM uses custom downpipes, air intakes, and M-Cantronic software for additional performance. A more powerful turbocharger setup completes the ensemble.

The super hatch flaunts a vibrant Python Yellow paint job offset by green MTM decals.

As a result, the Audi S3 MKM Club Sport only takes 3.2 seconds to accelerate from a complete standstill to 62 MPH. A 7-speed S-tronic gearbox sends power to all four corners. Thanks to its AWD setup, we get to see the car drive over the snowy roads of the Austrian Alps with ease.

Shots of beautiful icy landscapes greet us throughout the video as the brand new hot hatch dominates the Austrian alps. The S3 Sportback MTM Club Sport rides on a set of MTM Bimoto 19-inch wheels which flaunt a black finish. The tuning house also updates the bodywork of the super hatch.

A prominent carbon fiber spoiler dominates the front end, and at the rear, we find a large wing which is also a carbon fiber component. The hatchback also ditches its stock seats for a set of Recaro Podium seats. MTM also managed to fit in a roll cage with more space available inside the cabin.

2022 Audi RS3 Can Allegedly Hit the 62 MPH in 3.1 Seconds

2022 Audi RS3 Can Allegedly Hit the 62 MPH in 3.1 Seconds

We join Auditography for another exciting video where the all-new 2022 Audi RS3 drifts around the Austrian Alps sporting a menacing Mythos Black paint job.

Like us, Auditography also has a soft spot for sporty offerings from the Ingolstadt brand. The YouTube channel’s latest video features an all-black 2022 Audi RS3 sedan, which dances around the winding roads of the Austrian Alps. We recently discussed another Auditography video that featured an Audi S3 equipped with Motoren Technik Mayer’s Stage 3 tuning kit.

Unlike the 2-liter four-cylinder engine of the German tuner’s super hatch, a stock albeit much larger 2.5-liter five-cylinder powerplant sits under the hood of the 2022 Audi RS3 sedan. The motor produces 401 HP of maximum power and 360 lb-ft of peak torque courtesy of its turbocharger setup. It’s between 5600 and 7000 RPM that one gets to truly experience the incredible power of this RS3’s TFSI engine.

The RS3 didn’t receive an update for the 2021 model year. In comparison to the previous model, the powerplant of the new model only produces one horsepower more than its predecessor. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox redirects the power to all four wheels.

2022 Audi RS3 Can Allegedly Hit the 62 MPH in 3.1 Seconds

Auditography claims that the 2022 Audi RS3 hit the 62 MPH mark in just 3.1 seconds during their testing.

According to Audi, its sporty new limousine can accelerate to 62 MPH from a complete standstill in just 3.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 180 MPH. Throughout the video, we are also greeted by cinematic shots of the RS3 sliding through the Winter Wonderland of the Austrian Alps.

We also get to cherish the intoxicating exhaust note of the sports sedan’s new active exhaust. Audi plans to become an electric-only brand by 2033 and will soon phase out its internal combustion powertrains, making videos like these all the more special. The Darth Vader of Audi’s product portfolio dominates the snowy terrains with ease thanks to its Quattro all-wheel-drive setup.

Audi offers the 2022 RS3 with a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. The car seen in the video rides on winter tires and sports Audi’s rich Mythos black paint option. In its murdered out garb, the Audi RS3 looks genuinely menacing. The all-black color scheme also extends to the interiors of this RS3.

Salvage RS 3 vs Showroom S3 Duel Upon the Runway of Time

Audi RS 3 vs Audi S3

One packs a turbo-five and a salvage title. The other runs a turbo-four and a factory warranty. Both RS 3 and S3 put on a good show.

Here in the United States, the only S3 available to us is the sedan. Which is fine. However, the sedan’s trunk doesn’t offer the same utility as the hatchback on sale over in Europe. Throw on the power of its 2.0-liter turbo-four, and the only challenger to its throne is the hottest Audi hatch, the RS 3.

Even one nearly a decade older. Carwow‘s Mat Watson recently pitted a brand new S3 against a salvage 2012 RS 3 rebuilt by YouTube channel Saving Salvage. Though Audi fans come out on top of this intra-familial battle, let’s see if older or newer is better.

Audi RS 3 vs Audi S3

“What will happen in a drag race between the new Audi S3 and the old RS 3?” asks Watson. “We’re gonna find out by racing them over the standing quarter-mile.”

The new S3’s turbo-four delivers 310 horses and 295 lb-ft of torque to the corners via a seven-speed auto and the quattro system. The older RS 3, meanwhile, packs a turbo-five with 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Both weigh exactly 3,472 pounds, and both were priced about the same in their respective time periods. However, the S3’s engine sounds muted through its exhaust, while the RS 3 sounds more alive. A sign of what’s to come?

Audi RS 3 vs Audi S3

“Back in the day, cars sounded better,” said Watson of the RS 3. “Especially five-cylinder units, like in that car. It’s one win to that. Let’s see what happens in the drag race. Hopefully, I can restore some faith in modern cars.”

Nope. On the first go, Watson fluffs the gear change, allowing the RS 3 to soundly beat its younger S3 self. However, he returns the favor on the second run, just by moving off the muddy bits at the line. The final run saw both cross the finish in 12.7 seconds, though the older RS 3 beat the new S3 by a nose.

Audi RS 3 vs Audi S3

Next up: the rolls. The RS 3’s turbo-five pulls away to take the first win while the S3 was in comfort mode. The S3 wins the second roll after the RS 3’s gear changes didn’t work in the older car’s favor. The third and final roll is all RS 3, though, thanks to that turbo-five.

However, the final win would go to the S5. On the emergency stop, the newer Audi stopped in less distance than the older RS 3. As Watson says, “new car brakes better than the old.”

2012 Audi RS 3

“[The RS 3] was written off, and has been rebuilt,” said Watson. “And some of the horses may have escaped in that process, who knows. Whereas this [S3] is brand new.”

While the new S3 stops better, the RS 3’s extra cylinder means it can keep up, if not surpass the new machine. Time marches on, indeed.
